HMM and ONE Expand Far East–Latin America Service

NW4 Adds Calls at Callao in Peru and Guayaquil in Ecuador
HMM and Ocean Network Express (ONE) have further optimized their Far East–Latin America service network by extending the existing Far East–Mexico service to the west coast of South America, with regular calls added at Callao, Peru, and Guayaquil, Ecuador.
The latest network adjustment strengthens maritime connectivity between Asia and Latin America and provides more direct and diversified container shipping options for trans-Pacific trade.

Service Extended to the West Coast of South America
Previously operated under the FLX/AX4 vessel-sharing agreement, the service primarily connected major Far East hubs with key gateways in Mexico.
Following the network upgrade, the service has been extended further along the west coast of South America, adding regular calls at two important ports: Callao in Peru and Guayaquil in Ecuador.
Callao is one of Peru’s major commercial and container ports and serves as an important maritime gateway connecting Peru with Asia, North America and other Latin American markets. Guayaquil is also one of Ecuador’s principal container ports.
The addition of these two ports further enhances maritime connectivity between Asia and western South America while providing stronger logistics support for regional trade.

Qingdao and Ensenada Added to the Port Rotation
In addition to the new South American calls, the revised network also introduces Qingdao in China and Ensenada in Mexico into the port rotation.
The addition of Qingdao strengthens the service’s coverage of cargo originating from northern and eastern China, while Ensenada further expands the network along Mexico’s Pacific coast.
With the revised port combination, the service can reach a broader range of Asian and Latin American markets while offering shippers greater routing options and operational flexibility.

HMM Renames the Service “New West Latin Service (NW4)”
To reflect the expanded geographic coverage and reconfigured network structure, HMM has officially renamed the service the New West Latin Service (NW4).
The revised port rotation is:
Shanghai → Ningbo → Qingdao → Busan → Ensenada → Lázaro Cárdenas → Manzanillo → Callao → Guayaquil → Shanghai
The new service design connects major Asian export hubs with key ports along Mexico’s Pacific coast and major gateways on the west coast of South America, further strengthening the trans-Pacific container shipping network between Asia and Latin America.

Strengthening Trade Connectivity Between Asia and Western South America
The NW4 upgrade represents more than the addition of new port calls. It also reflects the continued development of maritime connectivity between Asia and Latin America.
