On June 25th, PIL Logistics issued the Important Notice on Cargo Weight Declaration and Related Charges Policy Adjustment.
According to the notice, in order to safeguard transportation security and supply chain stability, according to the latest regulations of PIL Logistics and relevant cooperative carriers, from the date of this notice, the shipping company will implement the following charges and responsibility mechanism for inaccurate cargo weight declaration.
The weight deviation surcharge standard is as follows:
-- If ±10%<Weight Deviation<±15%: USD 200 per container;
-- If the weight deviation is ≥±15%: USD 1,000 per container;
-- If the misreported/underreported weight exceeds the maximum rated weight of the container, a flat rate of USD 30,000 per container will be charged.
Previously, on June 16, Wan Hai Shipping also issued a notice emphasizing that all customers must declare goods truthfully and correctly.
--Any misdeclaration of cargo, such as concealment/ omission/misdeclaration, the carrier has the right to charge USD 100,000 per unit for breach of contract according to the agreement of both parties at the time of entering into the contract of carriage.
